Behind The Scenes
Most of our gigs are weddings or other private events. As such, the details really matter. A lot of times when I'm working through the countless planning calls and emails that go into putting on these special events, I step back and think about how nice it would be to just show up and play. Our performances are almost an afterthought given the magnitude of planning that goes into making these events a smash. I'm also really lucky to work with a badass group of musicians that make the performing part essentially on autopilot. Once the band hits, most of my work is done and the fun begins...
Amidst my complaining about all the planning I also remember we're asked to do a really special thing for people on an extremely important day and it takes an enormous amount of planning to craft the night to folks' expectations. Ultimately, it's an honor and a privilege to be involved with people in such an intimate capacity. Great things come out of those opportunities. I've gone on to make great friends out of former clients. Most of our work comes from referral because we were successful on someone's biggest night. I have a unique relationship with a lot of my pre-existing friends because I was the guy who sang their first dance song.
It's difficult to capture just how much work goes into making a private event a smash so Dustin and I thought we'd show you. Dustin trailed me with a camera for a night as we put on a dance party for Ben and Irene's wedding. We hope you'll get the picture. The details really matter. We're blessed to have the opportunity to make them matter for our clients.
You can find more of Dustin's video work at his YouTube Channel. He's really good.
