Summer Jazz Camp For Youth

It's no secret we think the world of Cicely Mitchell and Art of Cool. The amount of thankless work she puts in to promote, advocate for and truly support live music in the Triangle is inspirational. Night in and night out, she's a tireless force for bringing world class jazz, soul and r n' b to Raleigh/Durham, in addition to supporting the world class talent we've got locally. It doesn't end there.

Start of Cool , a subsidiary of Cicely's non-profit, is a week long jazz camp for 4th-8th graders which is in its third year of bringing jazz and broader musical performance to local youth. We support Start of Cool because it's bringing the gift of music to children at that special age where an immersion in music can be completely life changing. We hope you join us in supporting Cicely and Start of Cool.  $250 sends a child to this camp for the week, and you get to check out their recital at Southern Village on June 25th at 6:00PM.
